The foundation of Dr. Montessori’s educational theory
was based on her observation that children possess an
innate desire to explore, discover, and learn about their
world. Accordingly, we offer an enhanced and enriched
Montessori education. Our program includes mixed age
groups (ranging in age over a one and a half year span),
individual and group instruction, an enhanced cultural
studies curriculum that embraces holidays and
celebrations from around the world and several specialty
programs including: Technology, Foreign Language,
Music, Library, Art, Yoga, and Creative Fitness.
CMMS has a very innovative and comprehensive program
in store for your child, one in which your child will grow in knowledge, self-awareness and
confidence. At CMMS, classes are organized as a miniature society in which children work
and learn together in harmony, while maintaining their individuality. The role of the teacher is
to assist the child in developing independence while fostering a joy of learning. In addition to
the three R’s (reading, writing & arithmetic), CMMS students are taught the R’s of Respect,
Responsibility, Reasoning, Resilience, and Resourcefulness. Each child learns the
importance of self-respect, respect for others and respect of the environment, and respect for
their work. In our program, students develop fundamental academic and life skills that play an
important role throughout their lives. We take a personalized approach so that each student
advances at their own pace, regardless of his/her level of ability, learning style or social
maturity.
